Plasma Return

Alright it has finally been 2 months since i last donated plasma and more than half my blood by accident. So last time my left arm vein went first and then my right arm both got a hematoma and i could not retrieve the blood they took out to filter the plasma. If you read the last post about me doing my second plasma donation and had the worst case happen with the needle trying to pop out.

so this time i schedualed my appointment after my regular day job when i got off a 6pm and rushed over to the plasma donation center for my appointment at 6:45 and i arrived at 6:29 and i wanted to see the time it would take for the whole process. Oh boy what a time frame today to walk into give plasma.

When i pulled in to the parking lot it was full strange i never seen it full “maybe the restaurant has a party?” I found a spot a little farther away from the building. i walked in to the facility and and seen the line and it was long what a line it was so I immediately go to the self serve computer to check in. This is were it asks you about previous donation and if their has been any surgeries and or new tattoos and other types of personal info also if you are feeling well. All answers are no for me and i am feeling good to donate. But the best part was i thought i could check in right when i got in but i was wrong the machine was saying i did not have an appointment. I got off and walked to the front desk and had to wait for an attendant to come up to ask when i would be able to check in. When i finally was able to ask the attendant it came up to only be able to check in 10 minutes early and i still had about 2 minutes till check in as my appointment was scheduled for 6:45 and it is about 6:33ish when when they answered how fun lets wait. Now after the time i finished check in and headed to the line that had 3 turns and only 2 phlebotomists working at the time.

As im waiting in line their was about 2 more techs starting the check in process and the line straits to move a little faster. Once that happened the donations chairs were full and slowly going and opening new spots but they still are moving slowly for the night. I believe they close around 9 is when all people should be done and closed up. After weighting 30 minutes and the one slowly moving i was now approaching the first turn till the front of the line. This is when a technician came to the back area of the line and started to ask everyone if they are interested in getting a come back card with a 20 bonus on next visit if they chose to leave now as they might not be able to get to everyone and we might have to pass today on most of you anyways. At this moment i was checking the appointment on the app and trying to decide go home or wait and still not get seen. After 5 more minutes and not moving i made an appointment for the next day at same time and took the card to get 20 extra why not and still get the process done the next day. This was a bust but if i can get some extra money the next time and i figured that is worth the money and time of 48 minutes of weighting so lets what happens next.
